Climb inside and explore an operational Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress at the Palm Springs Air Museum. The museum offers an ever-changing display of 59 flying and static aircraft displays from one of the world’s largest collections of operable WWII warbirds, plus aircraft from the Korea and Vietnam conflicts.
Set aside a minimum of two and a half hours to tour the 86,000 square feet of climate-controlled exhibition space in the four main hangars. We have the only Vietnam POW Bracelet Display, special Tuskegee Airmen mural, and a 9,500 volume library.
During season, flight exhibitions occur most Saturdays, plus special educational programs.
Over 200 volunteer docents, many of whom flew the types of aircraft on display, are on hand to explain the exhibitions and displays.
Annual highlights are the Veterans Day and Museum Birthday Air Fair, Memorial Day Flower Drop and Air Fair, and the Tuskegee Airmen program and flight exhibition.
The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Friday, Feb. 16, 2018.
Don’t miss the annual Props & Hops Craft Beer Festival (Nov. 18, 2017) featuring Southern California’s premier breweries, flight exhibitions, Bucket List DC-3 Rides, live music, and food vendors.
