Sunnylands is the former winter home of Ambassador Walter and Leonore Annenberg. Designed by architect A. Quincy Jones with interiors by William Haines and Ted Graber, the 25,000 square-foot mid-century modern house sits on 200 acres.
Today, the organization hosts private, high-level retreats and offers public tours of the historic residence, known as a place where United States Presidents, royalty, international political figures, and cultural and scientific leaders have gathered.
The Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands hosts a variety of high-level conferences, retreats, and seminars on issues of national and international importance, including the 2013 meeting between President Obama and President Xi Jinping of China, known as the Sunnylands Summit.
Sunnylands Center and Gardens, open free, features public events, exhibitions, gardens and bird walks, contemporary sculpture, and a unique arid-resistant garden, inspired by a van Gogh painting.
Visitors can relax in the great room with its spectacular view of Mt. San Jacinto, enjoy the menu options at the cafe, and browse in the Sunnylands gift store.
