From the 7,300-yard championship golf course to the 63,000-square-foot Tuscaninspired clubhouse, Classic Club delivers an elevated experience for guests on all fronts — as one would expect of a property envisioned by The King. Arnold Palmer designed the course to host the PGA Tour’s Bob Hope Chrysler Classic (now The American Express, held in La Quinta), which it did from 2006 to 2008. These days, the scenic grounds are a go-to for charity tournaments and players of all levels seeking a premier golfing experience.
The property is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, meaning the course demonstrates a high degree of habitat protection and management, as well as water conservation and outreach programming to educate the community about wildlife in the Coachella Valley. Across rolling terrain with 30 acres of water, 14 bridges, and an abundance of shade trees, the sweet songs of migratory birds create an idyllic soundtrack for a day in the sun. Thirteen holes have water features — including challenging double-water features — ranging from plantlined lakes to bubbling streams, demanding precision off the tee and into the greens.
Arrive early to warm up at world-class practice facilities. Then stay awhile for a meal at the award-winning Bellatrix restaurant and wine bar. The course reopens in the fall following a wall-to-wall overseeding, showcasing top-notch playing conditions.
